Hi, my name is Radek Baszak, I live and work in Wrocław, Poland. On my very own I create a Aquatic Plants Studio team. Studio is my biggest passion, here I create my arrangements, and here brand new projects are born. The Studio in general is also kind of activator of the works – thanks to which I have put all my interest into the photography – especially its study edition. Here the concept of the web site which we are on was also born. I’ve got to admit that being a perfectionist helps me a lot at work – I tend to care about each little detail, and think over each case and issue before its final realization. What’s more I have got loads of patience – indeed useful in the aquarist profession :). I am a real fan of Mr Takashi Amano’s concept of aquaristics – I find his style and attitude truly inspiring. I share his special care for the tank presentation in the room it is situated in, the

high quality of materials and the design. Moreover his philosophy of man’s relationship with Nature, contemplating the complex world inside the aquarium and also the consciousness and responsibility for its habitants are a real standard for me to follow.

Developing my passion for the nature aquariums and analyzing the pieces send over to The International Aquatic Plant Layout Contest instinctively I have directed my interests to the photo shooting. The best works at the contest stood out thanks to the best quality pictures with perfect lightning.

Currently I dispose following shooting equipment: Nikon D80 with prime lenses and a studio lamp. This set helps me control the conditions for photo shooting, which is obligatory when it comes to the proper shooting of the plant aquarium with the fishes inside. The use of outside photoflash ensures the perfect lighting conditions of both – tank and the background, freezing the movement thanks to quick flash of 1/1000seconds. The prime lenses due to their high light strength give full control of the focus depth, distinguish with high definition and low

deformities. The key component of the set is boom type stand giving you full freedom in operating outside photoflash stocked with softbox.
